  • Seller Profit Tools is an independent third-party tool and is not affiliated with Etsy or Printify.
  • These calculators are planning estimates. They do not reproduce Etsy settlement or payout amounts.
  • US seller defaults are a 6.5% Etsy transaction fee, 3% + $0.25 Etsy Payments processing fee, and $0.20 listing or renewal cost.
  • The transaction fee estimate uses the item price and shipping charged to the buyer. Gift wrapping, paid personalization, and tax treatment may change the actual fee base.
  • Taxes are not included in this estimate. Actual Etsy Payments processing fees may differ when applicable taxes are included in the fee base.
  • Actual Etsy charges may differ slightly due to fee application and rounding.
  • For planning purposes, listing and renewal costs are allocated to units sold. Actual Etsy charges may occur at different times and amounts depending on listing and renewal activity.
  • Etsy Payments processing fees vary by bank account location. Sellers outside the US should enter their own rate and fixed fee.
  • Offsite Ads defaults to 0%. Use 12% or 15% only for an attributed order. The estimated fee is capped at $100 per order.
  • VAT, regulatory operating fees, currency conversion, refunds, deposit fees, Etsy Ads, Pattern, subscriptions, and shipping label adjustments are excluded unless you enter them as costs.

Calculation Details

How It Works

See revenue, fees, costs, net profit, margin, and ROI for an Etsy order.

  1. 1

Enter the selling price, quantity, shipping charged, and the costs you pay.

  2. 2

The calculator separates revenue, estimated Etsy fees, product costs, shipping profit or loss, and net profit.

  3. 3

Use profit margin and ROI to compare products with different cost structures.

Formula

The calculator subtracts estimated Etsy fees and seller costs from order revenue, then calculates profit margin and ROI.

Order profit formula

  • Gross revenue = selling price x quantity + shipping charged to the buyer.
  • Estimated Etsy fees = allocated first-unit listing/renewal cost + additional quantity fees + transaction fee + payment processing fee + capped Offsite Ads fee.
  • Net profit = gross revenue - Etsy fees - product cost - actual shipping cost - packaging - other costs.
Example

This example separates buyer-paid revenue, estimated Etsy fees, seller costs, and net profit using the default inputs.

Gross Revenue$45.00
Estimated Etsy Fees$4.73
Total Cost$20.23
Net Profit$24.78
Before You Calculate
  • Treating all shipping charged to the buyer as profit.
  • Entering one unit of product cost for a multi-quantity order.
  • Leaving out the fixed payment processing fee for the order.
  • Leaving out packaging, labels, inserts, or design license costs.
FAQ
How does the calculator handle listing fees?

For planning purposes, the calculator allocates listing or renewal cost to units sold. Your Etsy statement may show the original listing fee, multi-quantity fee, and auto-renew sold fee at different times depending on listing status and quantity.

What is shipping profit or loss?

It is the shipping amount charged to the buyer minus the shipping cost you pay. A positive amount adds to profit; a negative amount reduces it.

Can this replace accounting software?

No. This is an order-level planning estimate, not a replacement for bookkeeping, tax filing, or accounting advice.

This calculator provides estimates, not financial, tax, legal, or accounting advice. Fees vary by country and over time.
